Privacy policy
Effective October 9, 2026
TrulyAir ("we") provides air quality information inside ChatGPT and other AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol. This policy explains what data we receive when you use TrulyAir, how we use it, who processes it for us and how long it is kept. Questions: support@trulyair.com.
Summary
- We do not have accounts and do not ask for your name, email or contact details.
- We only use the place you ask about (or your approximate area, if your assistant shares it) to look up air quality.
- We do not sell data, show ads, use cookies or track you across sites.
- Cached lookups are deleted automatically, mostly within 48 hours.
Data we receive
| Data | Where it comes from | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| The place you ask about (for example "Delhi" or "Springfield, Illinois") | Your assistant, when you ask an air quality question | To find the location and look up its air quality |
| Approximate location: city, region, country, time zone and approximate coordinates | Your assistant may share this for "near me" questions. ChatGPT controls whether it is shared. | To answer questions about your current area. |
| Technical request data: IP address, time of the request, request path and similar metadata | Automatically, when your assistant calls our server | To operate and secure the service (handled by our hosting provider) |
We round all coordinates, whether shared by your assistant or typed by you, to about 1 km before using them. We do not receive your ChatGPT conversation, account details or messages other than the request your assistant sends to TrulyAir.
Who processes data for us
| Provider | Role | Data it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Open-Meteo | Place search, air quality model data and time zone lookup | The place name you asked about, or rounded coordinates |
| OpenAQ | Air quality monitor data where AirNow has no current nearby reading (only when enabled) | Rounded coordinates |
| Vercel | Hosting | Technical request data, in hosting logs |
| Supabase | Database for cached lookups and monitor data | Cached lookup results, keyed by place name or rounded coordinates |
Monitor data from the U.S. EPA AirNow program is downloaded as public files and receives no data about you. Our providers process data in the United States and, for Open-Meteo, in Europe.
How long data is kept
- Place-name searches are cached for 24 hours and deleted at the next daily cleanup (at most 48 hours).
- Air quality and monitor lookups for rounded coordinates are cached for up to 1 hour and deleted at the next daily cleanup (at most about 25 hours).
- Time zone lookups for rounded coordinates are cached for 30 days and deleted at the next daily cleanup (at most 31 days).
- Hosting and database request logs, which can include the technical data above and cache keys, are kept for up to 1 day by our providers.
Your choices
- You can always name a place instead of sharing your location; ChatGPT lets you control location sharing.
- To ask about or delete data related to your requests, email support@trulyair.com. Because we do not store identities, include the place and approximate time of your request.
Children
TrulyAir is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date above.
