Common questions

Why does TrulyAir say a value is a "model estimate"?

No air quality monitor near that place reported in the last hour, so the value comes from the Copernicus (CAMS) atmospheric model. Estimates describe a wider area and can differ from local conditions.

Why is the AQI different from another app?

Apps use different scales (for example India's NAQI or the European index), averaging periods and monitors. TrulyAir uses the US EPA AQI with EPA's NowCast averaging and its 2024 PM2.5 breakpoints.

How current is the data?

Monitor data updates hourly, usually 30 to 60 minutes after each hour ends. Each answer shows the time of the latest data.
